Heel Pain Causes: An Overview

Heel pain can cause excruciating pain for many people and can be the result of a number of conditions. The most common cause of heel pain is Plantar Fasciitis.  Other common heel pain causes include Achilles Tendonitis, Retrocalcaneal Bursitis and Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome.  Less common causes of heel pain are conditions such as stress fractures, bone spurs and heel pad degeneration. 

It is important to determine which type of heel pain is occurring before attempting treatment.

Diagnosis of Heel Pain
